Raml Migraine Diary
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-11-07
English
In short
- Your migraine diary stays on your device. Raml Migraine Diary has no server, no account and no access to your entries.
- Diary data is encrypted on the device and excluded from backups and device transfers.
- Health data from Apple Health or Health Connect is read only with your permission, shown on your device only, and never stored or sent anywhere.
- There are no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and no data is sold or shared.
Who is responsible
Write to this address for any question about your data, or to use the rights described below.
What the app stores
- Your diary entries: the type of entry (for example migraine, meal, work, menstrual cycle, medicine, sleep), start and optional end time, a label, notes, migraine severity and optional factor tags such as "coffee". These entries can contain health information.
- Where: only in the app's private storage on your device, encrypted with AES-256-GCM. The encryption key is kept in the iOS Keychain or the Android Keystore on the same device.
- Backups: the diary is excluded from iCloud, Google and device-to-device backups. This also means it cannot be restored if you delete the app or lose your device.
Health data
- If you tap "Read sleep and steps", the app asks for read-only access to sleep and step records in Apple Health (iOS) or Health Connect (Android). Access is optional.
- The app reads records from the last 7 days and shows them on the Health screen. They are kept in memory only while the app is open. They are not saved, not sent anywhere and not used for advertising.
- The app never writes to Apple Health or Health Connect.
- Apple Health, Health Connect and the makers of your wearables (for example Apple, Fitbit, Garmin) store and sync this data under their own privacy policies.
Pattern analysis
All pattern counts are calculated on your device from your own entries. Nothing is uploaded, and the app does not use external AI services.
Sharing
The app does not share your data with anyone, including the developer. The Android app has no internet permission. The iOS app makes no network requests.
App stores and test programmes
Apple (App Store, TestFlight) and Google (Google Play) may collect information such as installs, device type and crash reports under their own privacy policies. If you send feedback through TestFlight or Google Play, it goes to the developer through those services.
Deleting your data
- Delete an entry in the app, or use Settings → Delete all diary entries.
- Delete the app to remove all diary data and the encryption key from your device.
- Revoke health access at any time in the Health app (iOS) or in Health Connect settings (Android).
Your rights
Under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where it applies, the EU GDPR, you can ask what data is processed about you, have it corrected or deleted, and complain to the data protection authority. The developer does not receive or hold any of your diary or health data, so you can view and delete it yourself at any time as described above.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is published here with a new date.
